About the role
Overstory is hiring a Staff Product Manager, AI to lead 0-to-1 product development for a new AI-native grid resilience product, reporting to the Director of Product. This is a founding PM role working hand-in-hand with a small team of engineers and designers and directly with utility customers in the US, owning the product end-to-end from discovery to first shipped version.
Responsibilities
- Lead 0-to-1 product development for a new AI-native grid resilience product, from earliest problem framing through to first version shipped and used by customers.
- Decide what to build by combining customer discovery, AI feasibility, and Overstory's broader vision.
- Design and ship agentic, AI-native workflows in tight loops with engineering and design, favoring prototypes and live customer reactions over long specs.
- Define success metrics for the new product area and hold the team accountable as you iterate.
- Communicate clearly with the broader Overstory team, making bets visible, learnings shareable, and trade-offs explicit.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience with a track record of craft and shipping velocity.
- 0-to-1 experience at a startup or spinning up a new product line inside a larger company.
- AI-native solution design: thinks agentic-first, combining models, tools, retrieval, and workflows into coherent systems.
- Hands-on experience shipping agentic AI products in production, comfortable with LLMs, evals, and prompts.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; brings clarity to ambiguity.
- Time zone: NST, AST, EST or CST (US & Canada). Some travel to customer sites required.
Nice to have
- Experience building B2B or enterprise products in operationally complex industries (utilities, energy, infrastructure).
- Experience as a forward-deployed or embedded PM working closely with strategic customers.
