About the role
The International team at Life360 is building the next frontier of meaningful connection, bringing Life360's peace-of-mind platform to families everywhere regardless of where they live. As a Staff Software Engineer AI-Native, you'll work on an AI-Native engineering team where AI is a first-class collaborator at every stage: ideation, coding, testing, review, and iteration. You'll design and build high-quality APIs and services for international markets, and help define what AI-Native engineering looks like at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality APIs and services for international adaptation and localized experiences
- Work with AI (Claude Code) as a primary collaborator to generate code, tests, and code reviews
- Define and codify AI-Native engineering practices across the team
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn user problems into engineering solutions
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
- Mentor team members and support performance, reliability, and accessibility standards
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building consumer-scale services
- 1+ years of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs
- Strong proficiency in cloud development (Java, Kubernetes, AWS, streaming technologies)
- Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and context window management
- High agency, ownership mindset, and strong communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Experience with international/localization engineering at scale
- Familiarity with Life360's tech stack or similar consumer mobile platforms

Compensation
US: $190,000–$280,500 USD. Canada: CAD $237,500–$280,500. Includes equity and company benefits.
