About the role As an AI Engineer, you'll build Fieldguide's intelligence layer—designing agentic workflows, architectures, and evaluation systems that power enterprise-grade AI agents. You'll work at the intersection of product engineering, applied AI, and production systems in a $100B+ vertical market undergoing rapid transformation. You'll collaborate closely with senior engineers and product to scope, ship, and iterate on features customers use daily. Responsibilities - Build and implement agentic workflows that automate complex audit tasks - Integrate LLMs, tools, and retrieval logic into reliable agent experiences - Build evaluations and feedback loops to improve agent outputs - Write prompts and retrieval pipelines that perform at scale - Monitor and maintain agents in production with a focus on reliability - Translate customer workflows into clear engineering requirements - Use AI tooling to accelerate design, build, and testing cycles Requirements - 1–3 years shipping production software in real-world systems - Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python - Exposure to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) or AI tooling - Comfortable working in ambiguity with direction from senior engineers Nice to have - Familiarity with retrieval pipelines, RAG concepts, or vector databases - Experience with React and Postgres Benefits & perks - Competitive compensation with equity - Comprehensive health and wellness benefits (starting day one) - Flexible time off and work schedules - Technology reimbursements - 401(k) plan - Twice-yearly in-person offsites across the U.S. Compensation Base salary $150,000–$220,000 depending on location tier, skills, and experience.
